For the last 3 months or so we have been ordering our heavy items (tins, bottles etc) online in a huge monthly shop (OH refuses to EVER go shopping at a weekend again ). I have to say that it's been a brilliant experience, 'having ones shopping delivered to ones door' .
We placed this months order on Thursday, for a Saturday delivery and then on Friday I recieved an email from Tesco because they had noticed we hadn't been shopping with them for a while (that would be our normal month gap) and with the email, as an incentive, was a £7.50 evoucher .
"Couldn't they have sent us that yesterday" was basically what OH said.
Well last night I decided to send a tongue in cheek email of my own which was as follows:
Dear (name of person at Tesco),
Many thanks for your kind email with its' £7.50 evoucher. Unfortunately, this arrived less than 24hrs after we placed our monthly shopping order and will have expired by the time we place our next order.
Could we respectfully (and cheekily) ask that any further evouchers be sent to arrive BEFORE the 23rd of each month as this would enable us to utilise them during our monthly shop.
Many thanks,
At just gone 5 this afternoon OH took a call from a very nice and apologetic lady at Tesco who has replaced the £7.50 evoucher which had a use by date of 4th July, with an £8 evoucher, valid until 1st October .
I am so impressed. Well done Tesco, excellent Customer Service.
