Does anyone know a decent rain dance?

Because I'm getting to the end of my tether here, I've had to strap snowshoes to my 6 year old, to stop her falling down the cracks in the soil.

On the trophy in the local show (which I've won twice ) it had "drought" for the year of 1976. I'm thinking about asking this year to be done the same.

I don't mind looking a little silly doing a rain dance at night, or even going out naked or something if it would help.

It's got beyond a joke now, any rain that falls evaporates before it hits the ground virtually and I've got wild camels breaking into the waterbutts to get the last bit of moisture out.

Anyway, maybe a slight exaggeration there

I'm just off out with my wheelbarrow full of 2 litre milk containers full of water to do the village troughs and tubs. THEN I've got to get down to the plot with the same refilled. It's a right bind I can tell you. If you do your rain dance don't forget to get someone on hand with a camera!

seriously, send some of your weather up here and you can have the torrential rain we had last night.....peas didn't enjoy it and think I've lost a few as it was so heavy....hoping we may get summer some time in August now.....

hehe.. it THREW it down here last night - this morning the difference was incredible. My onions have swelled up, stuff is perky, and lush green.

Bad point is my lawn now needs mowing

..ah well- I rushed to get my washing in as there are little spits - and tis bone dry!...that was pretty darned fast!

Actually- I think my neighbour may have helped with the clouds- she's just spent the last 2hrs glyphosating her driveway!!!

it was raining as i left the house this morning, and i even debated taking an umbrella. by the time i had been out for 5 minutes, it had stopped, and now it's muggy and sunny again. i have thought about cleaning the back windows for the last couple of weeks- do you think i should do it- it might do the trick?

No lack of water here Swap you for some sunshine If I can get say a week of sunshine I'll get my first tom of the year - right now they are green (well one has a tinge of red) and sulking for some sunshine.

We had what seemed to be quite a lot of rain last night, but it's only penetrated about an inch into the soil (if that) and it already looked bone dry again by lunchtime today And it only put about 25-30 litres into the big butt, which is at most 2 days watering of the greenhouse. Ah well, better than nowt eh?

Take a look at "the Verdict" (I've never reliably managed to get links working on here). They are now selling a tank-thing designed to sit in a wheelbarrow. If the pics are anything to go by (and the company are usually pretty good) it should be a LOT quicker to fill than an array of plastic bottles (and probably holds a bit more as well).
