Yes, IF it is. That's why I asked the question.

    Is it?

If it is then my question is answered with a happy conclusion. If not, then I'm not happy.

C4 state they want a GARDENER.

In many peoples' eyes a gardener works the soil, something I can't do. So I'm excluded and the community would never get the chance to choose me.

All I mean is that don't write the actual people off - they might not be as bigoted, sexist, racist or discriminatory as assumed. They could be genuine, open(ish) minded people who would be happy to be shown that just because you can't actually grub in the dirt, you know what you're talking about, and have fine fellow who'll do the grubbing for you.

I'm also pretty sure that if there are opportunities to be physically involved then you would be, maybe C4 would motivated to invest in some of the tools available to the disabled gardener these days. They might even let you keep them

Reading the link it says : During the week’s filming they will get involved in village life, meeting the residents and demonstrating to them why they would be a valued member their community. The local residents then vote on who wins the home and becomes the newest resident of the village.

It would appear that it will be the participants that get on best with the community and fling themselves into the village life, getting to know everyone and taking part in all the activities that would get them through, rather than any gardening expertise or physical strengths that they may have, although as it is aimed at gardeners I assume that this will be an integral part of the competition.

Also, as it is not a job and the prize is the house, the winner will no doubt have to travel in order to have a job in order to pay for their living costs. Leeds being the nearest town by the sounds of it, I wonder how many people have the ability to manage to do this.
