                      • Dude called me on Friday evening to offer me the job. They are writing my 'formal' offer today and will hopefully receive it in the next day or two. Not quite the money I was hoping for, but they have agreed to review in three months time, and providing I'm doing what I should be doing - they'll meet my required salary.

It's a great opportunity to join a growing company (3 yr plan to expand significantly), and they see marketing as a key/intergral part of the business and plan.

I will actually be marketing manager for the group (4 companies) and responsiible for the lot. Gives me the chance to broaden my skills and hopefully develop as a marketer - so really looking forward to it.

Didn't go down too well with the agency I'm currently working for (one I used at my previous employers) as they had expected the process (me getting a job) to take a while longer. I have however agreed with potential new employers that I will hand over the project properly, which make take 2-3 weeks, which they are cool with.

Oh, and - I have another interview on Wednesday for another job - which is in a more similar industry to my previous employers.

                        It's all go go go.

Thanks for all the support/good wishes.

                          • I bet it's nice to feel so wanted isn't it Wayne! Just make sure you take the job which is closest to what you want to do & don't be swayed by the money aspect alone.

                            • Well, I'm 3 days into the new job and loving it. My R's hasn't sat down yet, and it's great.

My new office: Welcome to AWA Bathrooms Ltd

                              My next project: fayers-home

The one I need to keep LadyWayne away from: Home - Just Add Water

The one I don't really know much about yet: Home - Bathrooms, Showers and Taps Online at Bathrooms and Showers Direct

Thus far I have mainly been dealing with problems left over from my predecessor (I'm starting to get the idea that she was out of her depth). I have been chasing/sorting artwork for various adverts/brochures that are on tight deadlines. Of course only being three days in I'm having to do lot of asking, but my boss has every confidence.

I'm equipped with two laptops (one Mac, on PC) and a Blackberry - so I'm always able to work. Everyone is friendly in the office - there's a nice feeling in the building. I have visited several of the branches now and all folk are pleasant and professional. I think I'm going to like it. Being busy is great - being busy and productive will be better - but all things in good time.

Commute to and from the office is decent enough - country roads, just as I like it. I might even take up golf (there's a range just up the road).

A challenge it definitely will be, but it's a challenge I am looking forward to and one I am happy to meet.

Thanks for all the support and good wishes - I love you lot!

                              • Oh, forgot to mention, I became an uncle this evening too. LadyWayne's brother and his girlfriend had a baby girl this evening. We quickly popped to the hospital to introduce Bean to his cousin.

Welcome to the world baby Alice (we got Bean to say Alice before we got to the hospital - so cute).

                                Ain't life brilliant?
