I've been picking a few dorset naga chillies, courtesy of Chillimad, and son No2's friend is a right chilli fanatic at 20. Anyway Son No2 attended a bbq last week, together with said friend. He'd told me he wanted to try growing chilli plants on his windowsill at uni, so I sent him a dorset naga, with instructions to save the seeds. Anyway he went early from the bbq, and forgot his chilli. Several of his friends, a little the worse for drink, decided to eat it. The first lad took a bite, and said it wasn't that hot, so the next took a bite, with most of the pith and seeds. Just as he did so the first lad began to go bright red, my son likened it to a typical cartoon, where the character turns bright red before steam comes from his ears. They had a very uncomfortable 30 minutes or so, drowning in mucus and saliva, especially as the first is allergic to milk products, so could not alleviate the symptoms with a drink of milk or some yoghurt. The second lad came round today, and was pretty graphic about the effects he suffered the next day too He decided he didn't want to take up my offer of another chilli, just for him.

Last year my neice and her hubby came round, I said to him you like chilli's dont you, oh yes he said so I gave him a paper bag full of Thai Dragon chilli's, he took one out of the bag and bit it off to the sprig and proceded to chew he then flushed and ran to the kitchen and downed a glass of water sat down, jumpeed up again and got another glass of water, after his third glass of water I told him he would be better drinking milk which did help to subdue the heat.

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.
