  • Bastille Day!

Its Bastille Day - Fete Nationale in France today.
So, to all you Grapes in France, have a happy day.

Our village celebrations are on Saturday, so hopefully the weather will improve for the fireworks!

Pah, my replacement flies home this morning and will be enjoying le 14 Juillet at home, whilst I am stuck here. Pah.
Mme Pastis was tripping the light fantastic till all hours this morning at our local celebrations, but good job as apparently its raining at home today (although my garden will be delighted).

      The French always were revolting.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

I wondered why I was drawn to a lovely French cookery book whilst out shopping today. Bistro! £2.99 in The Works. Going to try a lot of the recipes, they all look mouth-wateringly good.

We had our communal Jour de Pain yesterday, great fun, communal food, everybody reasonably well behaved, traditional music and people up dancing. Great day - I'm the Tresoir for the Ctte de Animations so I hold the purse strings!
