I'm not a loud laugher. In fact, I'm not very loud at all. However, I watched a film recently that did make me laugh.

      I Love You, Man (2009)

I don't think I laugh as often as I make people laugh, but that's no bad thing.

People are different, that's all. I'm baffled at what some people laugh at.

My sisters make me laugh out loud - we all share the same sense of humour.

The odd episode of Peep Show can do it too. And my children.

Just be grateful you're happy and cheerful, and you don't need to advertise it.

I'm a chuckler...Andi's a proper LOLer...(which really bugs me if I'm upstairs trying to settle the kiddies and he's watching TV)
Don't think he's any happier than me nor that he finds things any funnier.

As a teenager someone called me ' smiler ' I guess cos everytime he saw me I was smiling, I bumped into this man a few days ago and he still called me smiler and told the blokes he was with all about it. He is older than me and married, when I met him, he and his wife have always been lovely. He wasa youth group leader.
My sister is known as grumpy and people often ask whats wrong with her, its because her mouth turns down lol.
I do laugh out loud when something is funny, I laugh, I smile at things that are twee, or cute.
My kids try and make me laugh till I start snorting then they wind me up.

Perfect example of differences, that doesn't even make me smile, it's just a coloured picture of a cat, not funny but give me one of those dry clever dry observational one lines and I'll have a proper giggle

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I think Dick Van Dyke put it best:

There is a whole website of 'painted cats' (actually a clever use of photoshop or a similar program) and SOME of them are funny.
Pratchett gets me laughing, but mostly, I just smile and enjoy!

I didn't think the picture was funny, just that someone putting in a picture was funny..

I'm convinced that a real belly laugh makes you feel so much better. I work with a woman and our job is rather stressful so when someone rings up with a really silly name, or something like that, we only have to look at each other to set each other off. It can be really bad sometimes when we can't answer the phone!
Also, my boss told me that the atmosphere in the office was very strained before we started and now everyone's a lot happier so I reckon a laugh a day does you good!

I only ever laugh out loud when taken by surprise. Either by an unexpected repartit or comment on here. I have to be shocked into an outburst of laughter.

I did read somewhere that laughter was a primitive response to shock. Seems like I am practically unshockable which does not surprise me lol

when i find something funny I don't tend to laugh out loud, but occasionally something will crack me up and I cant stop laughing,my sides ache and my face is soaked with tears, and if people don't know what I'm laughing at it makes me laugh even more and I try and explain but the words don't come out and by that point I'm struggling to breathe

the last time was when I needed a new wardrobe and I found one I liked (well it would do the job and it was cheap) and my mother who said "ooh its flat packed it wont last" and I said "well the one I've got is the one you bought 20 years ago and that was flat packed" ... she replied quickly and it came out strangely as "but that's the way you buyed them back then" in a west country accent (rather than her welsh accent) she hadn't even realised what or how she'd said it...I was weak I couldn't stand, the confused look on her face almost killed me off (...I do realise that this probably doesn't sound remotely funny to any of you,but I thought I'd share it anyway )
