It is Iona's birthday tomorrow (she'll be 9) and we ordered some stuff on-line and got the e mail from the company confirming dispatch the following day - this was 11 days ago - still not appeared - the courier / delivery service is guess who - Royal Mail - who apparently give themselves 14 days for a standard delivery and who do not offer a tracking service!! I know we stay in the Highlands but we also pay considerably more for deliveries up here so we should expect the same service as the rest of the UK. Not a happy daddy

That's a pathetic service. They have so many competitors they can't afford to be so lax.
Happy birthday Iona. Your Dad has lots of friends here who hope you have a super day.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Hope you have a great birthday Iona.
Just think, when your pressie DOES arrive you'll have another birthday celebration.
Hope you had a great day.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Happy 9th birthday Iona - you have a very special daddy.
I can't comment on Royal Mail - not without any bias anyway. I've made my feelings about them known before now.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/

My partner has worked for RM for 31 years . The posties want to provide a better service but their hands are tied , the unions sold them out and now the only mail RM are interested in getting to you on time is the junk mail. And it is going to get worse, before the latest deal went through there was a limit on the number of leaflets they could deliver , not any more it's as many as RM want , so brace yourselves. But do remember it is not the walkmans fault when your parcel arrives late, they can only deliver to you when it comes into their sorting office. Yes sometimes they do put things through the wrong door but when it's p***** down with rain and you are trying not to get the letters soaked it can be a wee bit difficult to read the mail correctly , It's not all bad service tho, my partner rescued some gig tickets the other week , a private courier had posted then through the wrong door not even bothered to get them signed for , the lady asked him if he knew where they should have gone , yep he did, so young lad got his tickets and was none the wiser that he very nearly didn't get them .
Big bossses who sit behind desks but know F*** all about the actual job have ruined this company.
