Fashionable, or just rude??

I'm nearly always early for things too. It drives me potty when I have a plan for the day and it all goes wrong because someone is late... The OH is a lot more lackadaisical about time, and can't understand why I get het up at tea not being ready til nearly bed-time (when he's cooking) or not setting off for outings until an hour later than we planned... Some of his family are appalling too - if you're having a gathering, you have to tell them it starts half a day sooner than you really want them!!

There was an American tourist in the Western Isles of Scotland who asked a local if they had a word in Gaelic that had the same meaning as "manyana" in Spanish. The old crofter thought for a minute then replied," No, there is no word in the Gaelic that conveys that sense of urgency!"
