  • Google Analytics is driving me nuts!!!!!!

google analytics is ruining my life and its making me mad.

When I try to load anything I often get GA appearing and redirecting me to sites I have no interest in, sometimes if I am lucky I catch a glimpse of the page I want before it vanishes, leaving me with a white screen. Some pages load without any trouble, others load sometimes, while some don't load at all.

It is taking up valuable computer time, depriving me of doing the things that I actually want to do on my PC. I am just about ready now to chuck this computer out and never use one again.

If anyone has a remedy I would be eternally grateful.

When I enter a site address or click on a link, I get www.google-analytics taking over and redirecting me to some random sites that I dont have any interest in.
Sometimes pages load, the grapevine is not affected by it, but other sites get hijacked by it. The screen I want sometimes flashes up briefly then disappears and leaves me with a blank screen. I cant load my newly begun blog on google for example. When I try I occasionally get onto it, but mostly just get a blank page. This has begun to happen with a lot of other pages that I try to load too. I am running a scan now to see if anything is found but don't hold out much hope. A lot of other people seem to be having trouble with it too.

When you say 'wiped' Do I have to clear all my saved stuff? Or is it a virus scan type of thing?

It could be something nasty has hijacked your hosts file.

            Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

and in that directory there should be a file called "hosts", edit this file and copy'n'paste the contents into a post on here.

Basically, all the lines starting with a "#" are comments, if you have any uncommented lines in there other than possibly one saying "127.0.0.1 localhost" then something bad may be going on.

I'm assuming this is your own personal computer, if it's a work one then there may be other legitimate entries in there.

hello ww it is not a virus it is a programme used by google, should not cause you any probs, do a scan, if you want to stop google analytics running turn off java script, though this may affect other programmes you have, or try this link its an add for your browser and should block it Download-Seite fr das Deaktivierungs-Add-on fr Browser von Google Analytics

Hotstuff: 127.0.0.1 localhost - this is the only line without a #

bishop: I downloaded the addon link that you sent, but I still cant get into my blogger.
If I turn off Java script, how does that affect the other programmes?

WW, what anti-virus software do you run? Is it up-todate and have you run a scan recently?

If you don't already use it you may want to download and run Malwarebytes.

When I click that link, there's no such site, googles site is Google Analytics | Official Website

Do a virus scan, if anything comes up then let it fix it. If I have too many problems I remove all of my valuables off the computer and wipe the hardrive using the windows disk and start again. Hope you get it sorted xx

I use Norton 360. Ran a scan and it found and fixed 3 problems, but I still cant get into my blogger. I have given up on the Google supplied blog now and started a different one.

java script is a programming language that runs on a client's browser which makes a page more interactive. Java Script can do things such as make animated images, pop-up windows, cause an image to change when your mouse rolls over it, etc. have you done a scan, as taff said i think your browser has been hijacked, what anti virus are you using, there are several free programmes that should remove this let me know and i will put some links on.
