I started when I was 19, but stopped the end of august last year. I smoked roll ups, mis the rolling action big time. Tried to crochet for a while!!!
My best mates smoke so had to avoid nights out for a long time, but can now sit with them. I still want one now and then its something I asociated with socialising and aving a break. Damn!! Want one now as Im typing!
Feel better, healthier and was getting quite sad about my inability to give up> My friends couldnt understand why I found it hard when I smoked little in comparison to them. No mater how much you smoke, its hard. Never thought I would last this long. Almost a year

Oh, BM, I'm sad to hear you have started it again. Better fat and living rather than thin and dead, I say...
I know how hard it is to give up - and how easy it is to start again - I must have given up several times.
Just don't give up giving up!

Upset one of the young lads at work a few years ago when was moaning that he was skint and couldn't afford to pay into his pension. Pointed out that as he smoked about 40 a day he probably wouldn't need his pension anyway, don't think he liked it much but it got a good laugh from other people who heard
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Keep going. Even if you slip up, keep going. After 10 years there are still occasions when I fancy a ciggy (normally when drinking! ) ... it just happens less, gets easier to ignore and quicker to forget about the longer you keep going.
To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower
I never smoked, but my sister used to quit about twice a year (on average) always lasting until the next family crisis. A couple of years ago she actually stopped (I haven't seen her for a while, and knowing there are several ongoing family crises, she may have restarted).
I have heard about the appetite suppression thing, but I think also, a lot of ex-smokers nibble as a substitute......
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
