  • I'm getting divorced...

Deary me.. no not from my wife, it's much, much worse. I'm having to let go of my love, my true happiness

Looks like I'm moving into the 'family car' realm. On the plus side, I'm doing a bit more for the planet, going (probably) from a 3.2 petrol guzzling monster to a 1.5l diesel sipping cross over (seems to be so far a Qashqai - anyone got one? - any niggles?).

Mixed emotions happy to get a new car but really gutted to have to let go of mine. And to make matters worse, my wifes car just died too so we're having to seek out a replacement for hers too. If you see a sad looking chap going around washing cars for a fiver - its me, please do help by offering your car for a wash (cuppa would be nice too! - ta).. so I can fund life. To make matters worse, no doubt I'll be asked to accept a lovely low price on my trade in.

    This growing up malarky... pfffffffffft!

I remember when I used to zoom round in a 2 seater sports car... I now have a Mazda estate

Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely car and very practical, however, not quite as exciting... being 30 is awful!!

Ah- but when the kids leave home you can go back to a 2 seater Noddy car again!

...this getting older malarky certainly has it's benefits!

Exactly Nicos, it will be a "Noddy" car and not a sports car.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

This was considered a 2 seater sports car in it's day!!!!

I can't have ever grown up then..cos I've had bigger and bigger cars and engines till I hit 50 (years not mph lol) My best was my 3.2v6 Isuzu trooper. A tank that went like sh** off a shiney shovel but would pull the side out of someones house if needed.
Sadly the result of good acceleration and poor brakes (by comparison) finally caught up with me and now I'm reduced to a Volvo estate..

Ah-ha, so that's how it's done. *Makes mental note* Mind you, my car is still a 4/5 seater, just 2 door. it may be a throughbred race car though, but my wife doesn't know that... well mind you she did wheel sping it all up the driveway reversing out the first time she drove it(and last!)

I have a similar bike! (discovery) Don't think my daughter would sit still enough for me to ride her places though... Not so sure my wife would like being on the handlebars either No idea where the next nipper would sit either!

Yeah, this engine returns stupidly high MPG too, which is what tempted me to it.. I currently get around ~17mpg (at most) around town, and on a *long* motorway trip, I can get 33mpg out of her. Mind you, when I bought it, I had no plans of kids (or i'd have gone for a 4 door heh)

                            It's a worthwhile trade-in.

Oh, and the grey hair thing - it's when you have to find the darks amongst the colours that you need to start worrying.

                              Wowee, that's a long-un!

I did think about an accord actually, but nissan are cheap for the specs you get - I'm hoping to get a good trade in price on mine due to the spec. Bleh, it'll only take the 3 odd years of owning it to get over not being pinned back in ya seat (oo-er!) hehe
