That's what i'm telling myself. But funnily enough, I'm still down here wasting time on 'pooter, when i should be upstairs going to bed

When I heard the noises earlier, I actually got as far as leaving the house, standing outside the front door, poised to leg it! Strange, as i'm not one for fanciful imaginings...

        Caro - are you OK?
Let's hope it was just the timber in the house, eh?...
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Well, nobody attacked me in my sleep

Weird, as we've been here over 5 years and normally I'm not bothered by the odd creak. Wasn't pleasant having to check every room before i went to bed, but it was all just my imagination

              Imagination is weird isn't it?

My house is about 350 years old- and when we moved in a local asked if it had any ghosts
..got me wondering if they knew something we didn't about the history of the house ( French farmers are historically the most suicidal of French peeps)

I was chatting the other day about how cold one area of the tiled floor is in the lounge- and someone said- ooh- maybe you're walking over some graves

I know full well that the guy who did up that part of the house when it was a ruin said he'd had a really difficult job sealing that area from flooding- and warned us not to disturb it
( was a bare earth floor previously)

-but for some daft reason when I walk over it with bare feet I wonder if there might be something consealed!!!

..think I need to wear slippers eh???

              - glad you're fine caro!

Someone smokes in my house ......either I smell cigarette smoke or the struck match that lights them.....Yes it's an old house, no- neither Mr HF or I smoke and neither do any of my neighbours...... so WHY the really strong smell of cigarette smoke?
Have smelt this from a few days of us moving in and through all the restoration work. Not so often but maybe two or three times a year (been here 15years or so)
When ever I smell smoke I ask nicely - " please dont smoke in our house," "come and help me with the house work if you wish" - sadly no help ever given!
Hope you all had a peaceful night

My imagination used to run riot some nights when it was just me and the kids in the house. Then I let the kids have hamsters - after that there was so much noise all night, with the hamster wheels going and little teeth gnawing at bars etc, that if I heard anything at all I knew it was a hamster!! Sleep tight all
Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

It used to be I couldn't hear anything apart for OHs snoring, these days it's the dorts - she soooooo loud for a little person. Cant wait to get my own place. Then the fun will start with my over active imagination I can tell you. It used to take a few months to settle when I was used to living on my own, goodness only knows how long it will take now!
