So sorry Jackie. I know how you feel, I have an elderly neighbour who is a lovely lady - her cat keeps escaping into my garden and we have had several occasions when he has had to be forcibly returned (he is her only companion since her husband died). She is very independent, though her daughter visits regularly and we chat over the fence, but I dread hearing bad news.

I'm so sorry to hear that Jackie. At least you know that you did all you could for her and more. You are the neighbour everyone should have. Big hugs from me and we are always here for you.

Thank you all for your thoughts, its been a tough day. For someone to die aged 61 is no age at all.
She is at peace now and no longer in pain.
I will miss her even though we didnt do much together, up untill a couple of years ago she worked full time. I knew I could pop in for coffee any time.
My OH put the bins out for her every week.
At least her daughter got to spend the last couple of weeks with her.
Once again thanks for Hugs etc.

Oh goodness...61 is no age at all, and to have already lost her husband......but they will be reunited now, I'm sure. And no more suffering.

Condolences to you, and I'm sure that your neighbour really appreciated all of the things you & OH did for her. Don't say you didn't do much, even small things mean a lot.
