I have a OH who was a news photographer for years and has seen some horrific accidents, My eldest is now a copper and will probably see some horrific accidents and my youngest wants to be a paramedic . I'm all for zero tolerance on the drink driving there's enough a**sholes on the roads anyway so anything that can be done to remove some of them can only be for the good.

It's just polite when you have done nothing wrong!

Only time I was ever stopped was 25 years ago when we were in mid move from Wiltshire to Orkney, 3 day drive (with 3 children in the car, 7, 5, and 2), December evening, one of my lights had failed (well I didn't know did I?). I was very polite, and explained that my husband was driving the furniture van, and we had a long way to go yet, so I just got a ticket telling me to produce my driving licence within 5 days (of course it was in the van, not in the car with me....)
It didn't bother me apart from the inconvenience. I tend to assume the cops are reasonable people (until given reason to be otherwise), but I do know this is not always the case, if they've had a bad day......Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
