    I was married in a kilt, well I do have jockanese ancestry after all. Nothing underneath and getting out of the car at the reception prompted a Paris Hilton moment that brought a wry smile from the mother in law.

        OH just seen the picture and said 'its not a very good picture (lol! sorry) but it looks like a roundhead helmet'.

        Description says - 'The helmet was originally a WW2 female fire guard helmet and has been adapted for the civil war design.' Take it to your local museum they should ID it for you.
