Thanks for all your kind comments,

we've taken the guard off and she's slowly getting back to herself. The guard will go back on overnight to protect the area.

      How's she doing Danny?

I must say the 'lampshade' is far trendier than the ones our girls had in the past...white plastic hideous looking things

        Hi A&D,

She's doing very well, giving the Mrs dirty looks and tried to jump of the top of the sofa!

i wanted poppy to have pups, so i put it off, but then she got to about 7 and i figured she was a bit old, so had her done ....... at the same time as i had my hysterectomy ..... i could hardly move, yet she was as right as rain in about 3 days, and fully back to normal in a week ..... they cope so much better than us humans

Glad she's ok...We took our bitch to be spayed and the vet said to the nurses , We'll say it was pyo for insurance purposes and for KC regs as she was a show dog. (she'd had trouble with phantoms) anyway when he opened her up she actually was in the first stages of pyo so we were lucky.

Jake send her his sympathies especially for the whole lampshade look.......

I was actually thinking about you & your dog Danny last night when I was watching 'Dragon's Den', someone had come up with an alternative to the 'lampshade' for dogs after ops., they'd created a sort of jacket which you strapped on upside down so that it covered the operation site. They didn't get the money though as the dragons thought the dogs would just chew the cloth etc. although they did all like the lovely collie modelling it!
Hope your little lady is feeling better today!

Suppose it did look a bit like that Danny! It was cream cotton/linen type material, it might have come in handy when we had our dog spayed as every time she lay down somewhere her stitches seemed to leak!

                              Thanks Bernie and Dexter,

Update is she is doing remarkably well. While on medication we was feeding her chicken, meat balls, and other bits to make sure she got the tablets down. Now she has finished her course I put down dog food yesterday so she didn't eat much!

Now in a quandary as she needs to eat to build herself up, any suggestions greatfully accepted.

                              Regards
                              Danny
                              Cheers

Mix the two. Give her dog food, but with goodies in it. After a few days, reduce the ratio. If she won't eat, stick with it for a while. Once she has recovered, don't worry, she'll eat if she's hungry!
