What about trying to write something? A story or article?

I second that. Write for yourself. Enjoy reading over in a few days (or a couple of weeks) and edit if you think it needs it (I always think mine need it). You might be surprised at how good you are - or how good you get to be over the course of 8 weeks.

      Good wishes for your recovery,

I've no ideas to suggest I'm afraid - not feeling very inspired, plus everyone else has beaten me to it anyway !

I just hope it all goes really well for you and that the time will fly by.

(Personally I like the tissue paper flowers idea to help Bagpuss but sometimes when you're feeling under the weather, simple stuff is best. )

I had a stay in bed earlier this year, and mainly read Sarah Walters books.

I was presented with a silk painting kit, greeting card size and a couple of paint-by-numbers things which I thought I'd loathe, but actually ended up really enjoying. They are copies of Van Gogh/Turner etc. which are incredibly detailed and fine. I found them very soothing and time passes quickly when something is so absorbing.

I think I have an unopened one somewhere - belted out of bed as soon as I could, so never started it. You're welcome to it if you think you'll enjoy it/I can find it...

Has anyone suggested patchwork? Hand sewing is surprisingly therapeutic.

Learn to play the guitar. Its a work in progress for me, and when I get the time to sit down for an hour with it, I really really enjoy it.
