  • let's see yer sheds!

i have been working on a project off and on for years now, slowly doing up a shed on a vague theme of showmans wagon, shepherds hut, gypsy caravan. it's nowhere near finished, but it is quite homely. anyway, today i have been trawling the internet, as it's pouring down outside, and i came across a couple of article's about living in your shed. something i have always half jokingly said i would do ( before arthritis kicked in, that is) and that got me thinking that it might be an interesting thread. so, i want to know what you have in your allotment or garden shed? is it businesslike and functional, or is it your personal retreat from reality? pictures would be great, and i will try to upload one of my shed interior in the next day or two.

Not sure you can call it a shed, more like a BBQ house that also looks after my spring bulbs............

This is the most important half of my shed - the unseen left-hand side is where all the tools live

This is our shed at the allotment, on Plot 1, its a custom built job, that we inherited with the plot, 4' deep, but 16' wide! We're in the process of building an arbour / pergola to the front for the grapevine to grow over!

Half the shed is an actual shed, then there's a sheltered recess, with the last 4' being a glazed section, kind of like a mini greenhouse! Unfortunately the glazed area is far too shaded to grow much in, but does make a good area to dry things in!

We're hoping to do some more decoration to the shed, I've got 2 lovley clematis to grow up the pergola supports at the front, and I'm looking out for a couple of Greenman plaques and some bird feeders for the shed / pergola, so hopefully we'll finally get it looking like we want it to this year!

We have four sheds One is damp, and full of my cr*p, the second is full of his cr*p, the third (huuuuuuuuge one) is stacked up against the fence, under a tarpaulin, waiting to be built, the fourth is still flat packed, on the trailer, under another tarpaulin, waiting for the fairies to do sommat with it! They were all free.

Oh, yeah, there's a fifth, but it's been converted to a chook coop!
