Beautiful setting Bigmally. You should be very proud, its absolutely gorgeous.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Thanks guys, it's taken about 5 years hard work. The garden was a forest when we bought the house, the grass was moss & boggy but I must have seen some potential..........or maybe just a moment of madness..........

Looking really lovely, Bigmally. Bet you've been enjoying your 'rooms' this year after all your hard work. I love the swing chair- you've given me an idea about what to ask for for my 50th next year.

I went away for 2 weeks in June & left FIL in charge of the garden, when I came back, he had planted Leeks, Calabrese, Beetroot, Swede & Cabbage in my flower borders.............What could I say?......... The orange flowers, I have no idea what they are, they are like a daisy type flower They were a freebie with some geraniums I bought last year & I saved a few seeds. Thanks for all of your kind comments.

Sorry, the orange flowers you can see are red geraniums. I'm no David Bailey.

Thanks BM, it is the geraniums (pelargoniums) which I meant, I can see what they are from the leaves now I look closely, I said orange but then I think I might be a bit colour blind!
I think your FIL did you a favour, it looks great, like real 'cottage garden' planting with the veg amongst the flowers & it's probably confused some of the pests who might have eaten the veg. otherwise!

Possibly, I never thought about it but they have been the best, none of the cabbages have been touched & were not netted. Must remember to put some in my beds next year. I put Pertunia & Marigold in my beds this year and must say have been really good as well.
