Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
I'm a window sill inside/ window ledge outside person too although I hadn't really thought about it before & probably use them the other way round too !
Never thought about it before, if I ever had I guess I'd have thought they were interchangeable - now I'm here going sort of like Tomaito-Tomahto---- window sill/window ledge/window sill/window ledge..... See, I called them sills up to this, but now I can't decide.....
My hopes are not always realized but I always hope (Ovid)
Cill inside (I had always spelled it with an S until I got a job in a firm providing timber for windows, skirting boards etc for the building trade and found that 'technically' it is spelled with a C) and ledge outside. A ledge to me always sounds narrow whereas a cill ... you can put stuff on.
This 'ledge outside' confuses me, because a ledge is surely something you CAN put things on, and the outside 'windowcill' is not meant for putting things on (the reason it isn't flat is so the rain runs off!!)
I usually think of them as cills, but internal ones big enough to use might be ledges....
