calling all dog owners

my 3 year old dog lucy was spayed last tuesday and she seems to be getting worse not better. the vet checked her on friday and said everything was fine but she won't walk for more than 3 foot before she flops down, she won't eat unless i hand feed her and i practically have to drag her outside for a wee etc. anyone had any experience of dogs behaving strangely after the op. she is not in any pain but i think the stitches are annoying her.

Well we all know they can put on an act when they want, like limping when they think you're watching. But if she's not happy why don't you take her back to the vet and explain so he can put your mind at rest..........

I'd get her to the vets to check her out again.
If there was something going on inside her then you'd kick yourself for hanging on

There might be a few reasons why she doesn't seem to be recovering. At the very least she must be feeling really sorry for herself (I'm not sure I'd recover so quickly if I had it done), her hormones will be all over the place as well. Like Binley said she might also be going for the sympathy vote.

But after a week she should probably should be starting to perk up a bit so I'd give the vet a ring just to check.

I had the opposite problem with both my old collie and my German Shepherd bitches, trying to stop them jumping about and bursting the stitches.
