  • Nicorette addiction

I gave up smoking over 20 years ago. Bully for me you may think but I am still now addicted to nicorette gum. I chew through probably a sheet a day of 4mg gum. I hate the fact that my jaw is continually chump chump chump but am I alone in this need for the buzz?

I gave up using the gum, but, and no joke, it took me about three months to get off the gum.

I wouldn't mind but it tastes disgusting.

The Original gum was absolutely awful. Now they have flavoured stuff and I cannot get enough of it. Woe is me.....

How did you do it PDBLAKE?

I've tried going by halves, and then down to 2mg. I've even tried switching to lozenges and the ones shaped like tic-tacs. No avail.

I just decided I'd had enough of the tip of my tongue being numb and never bought any more. Now if I could only have done that with the fags

This was about 9 or 10 years ago and it all tasted like cack back then.

Brengirl that's why you never fancy eating the stuff you cook. Tastebuds shot by the nicotine.
Why don't you substitute the nicotine for regular - that's what my sis had to do, otherwise she'd be like you, on the stuff for decades!

Why do you think fags are so addictive physically? Go 'cold turkey' its the only way...couple of weeks before your body is clear I think?

                    I reckon so.
If you really need the nicotine still, you could switch your source - I got on really well with the patches.

That's what I liked about them, Brengirl

There are some you take off at night for that reason...

So you've swapped one addiction for another...that makes perfect sense.
