    OH tends to cook too much when he cooks and sometimes it gets thrown away, mostly though it gets frozen or put into fridge.
    Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
    and ends with backache

      If supermarkets or other retailers would sell the slightly imperfect fruit and veg at a lower price, I'm sure that those on a tight budget would buy it! I buy the reduced stuff and I'm not on a tight budget ... but once I was and it's hard to get out of the habit.

        My only available supermarket is Waitrose. If something is 'reduced for quick sale' and I can imagine a way to use it, I buy it! It's not just the habit from days with little cash, it also seems silly to spend more than I need to, and let something be thrown away that I can use.

          I regularly drive between Skegness and Boston, an area where huge amounts of brassicas are grown and you would be surprised at just how common this practice is
