To echo the thoughts above. Having read Will's post via the link above I would like to stress that if anybody feels able then Thorpe Hall would very much welcome any donations, however small, it's a wonderful place doing a very good job of a bad situation and have helped various of my own family and friends. If you have a bit spare then maybe you could think of it as a way of repaying Sarah for all her good advice.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Along the shore I spy a ship
As she sets out to sea;
She spreads her sails and sniffs the breeze
And slips away from me.
I watch her fading image shrink,
As she moves on and on,
Until at last she's but a speck,
then someone says, "She's gone."
Gone where? Gone only from our sight
And from our farewell cries;
That ship will somewhere reappear
To other eager eyes.
Beyond the dim horizon's rim
Resound the welcome drums;
And while we're crying, "There she goes!"
They're shouting, "Here she comes!"
We're built to cruise but for a while
Upon this trackless sea
Untill one day we sail away
Into infinity.

I'm so sorry to read the news of Sarah's passing.
My sincerest condolencies to her family.
I'm sat here with a short note I wrote to her yesterday, thanking her for some jerusalem artichokes she sent me last week. I was going to post it later when I'd finished looking at the computer. I'd put a few stamps in to cover the postage. Apart from a couple of brief e-mails we'd exchanged, I didn't really know her, but she was obviously one of the world's good people. Anyway, I shall now open that envelope and re-address it and include a donation to Thorpe Hall in her memory.
I'm also going to sow a few flower seeds alongside those jerusalem artichokes.

Words fail me............ such a shock, such a loss of one who touched us all!
Will, thankyou for letting us know, both Mr D and I would like to add our condolences to what everyone else has said, and you and your family are in our thoughts. I pray that you are able to get throught this obviously difficult time and take comfort in what a wonderful person your mother was! If there is anything we can do, then please, you only have to ask!
The world has become a colder and greyer place without Sarah (Supersprout) in it, her enthusiasm, vibrancy and sense of helpfulness and fun will be sorely missed by us all!
Geordie, lovely words, I cant improve on them............Blessings

It's strange how other people touch your thoughts- although I never met SS, I will associate a bale of straw with her for a long time to come.
I've been considering mulching with straw around my strawberries, so I'll go and buy a bale in her memory. May sound a bit strange, but I'm sure she'd approve!
Will- I'm very sorry for your loss - I lost my father when I was 19 and even now ( 30 years later- but don't tell anyone my age!!) I have a little chat with him when I'm gardening or ironing- it helps keep him close to me.
It sounds as if she had a peaceful end, and that is one thing you'd wish for a loved one."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

From Will again
thank you all for such lovely messages. it means a great deal to me that people have taken the time to write such lovely things about my mum and that others think she was very special too.
it is for the best though as i didnt want her to suffer and she didnt. it was difficult when i arrived after she had gone as she looked to be just sleeping and i just wanted to hug her so tight and never let go.
The poem is lovely and i intend to read it at mums funeral. where is it from?
thank you again to all of you who sent messages to mum. both she and i really appreciated them.
