It's not beyond me to be stupid but today I surpassed myself. Pam Ayres is performing at our Electric Palace and 6 weeks ago I approached family as to who wanted to go. I then booked tickets. The event is on thursday and my grand daughter came round for hers and asked "how many going Nan". 7 I replied. Well there are only 5 tickets here
I had not counted me and him in the tally. The show is now fully booked so looks like we will be home alone.

Please tell me that you have been just as daft or worse........

could there be any chance of last minut tickets at front of house,as in bodys not turning up,or ring and ask if is possible you could be informed if any cancelations come up,they often do,

I did something similar a few years ago. I started a family tradition of taking the grandchildren to the local theatre panto. Costs me an arm and a leg but I love it. No other adult will come with us so just me and the littlies. It started with two of them and progressed until, at last, I was allowed to add my only grandaughter. I duly booked the tickets and paid for them over the phone. I was so pleased with myself that I persuaded the OH to go for a long walk and collect the tickets for me. Just as well I did. He went the same day and came back and I was one child short. After all that I had forgotten to include her. I telephoned the theatre straight away and although they have a policy of no return, because I had only just bought them they agreed to rebook. We had to have a completely different row as I needed 5 seat together but it was worth it in the end.
So no, Brengirl, you are not alone.

Yes I have done similar, years & years ago I bought tickets for the end of the pier show on holiday, turned up, handed them over & was told they were for the next night... after we'd gone home! Luckily they had some seats left & let us in!

Thank goodness I am not alone in my stupidity lol.
Me and him are still prepared to have a night out. I plan to take a seat at the bar in the foyer and whenever the entrance/exit door opens I plan to heckle (as if I really would). One way or another we will all have a good night out.
If SHE (Pam Ayres) knew I am quite sure she could turn it into prose.
