Kitty Cat Cookie Treats.

Well, not to be left out. Here's a home made cat cookie for the furry little friend/s in our life. I'm going to make and test these on my furry kitty guinea pig Jinny...he'll eat most things I make him.

Feel free to add your own recipes.

KITTY CAT COOKIES

Ingredients

7 oz mashed sardines
1/4 cup dry non-fat milk
1/2 cup wheat germ

Method

Pre-heat oven to 350F/180c/Gas 4. Mix ingredients. Roll into 30 small balls. Place on greased cookie sheet and flatten with a fork. Bake at 350F/180c/Gas4 until brown. Makes 30 cookies for your kitty cat.

These sound a lovely idea, but be careful with the added milk powder. A lot of cats are lactose intolerant which can have a nasty effect on the digestion.
You can buy milk powder for cats, which could be used instead I would think.

That's why it's dry non-fat milk BS, Jinny's sick if he has cows milk so I have to watch what I give him.

I think you may be right there Barley Sugar - just did a quick google and found that dried skim milk powder is in fact quite high in lactose - so maybe best to use one of the recipes on Jax's link instead.
I think the skim milk powder gives the treat a nice milky flavour, to make it more attractive to the cat, as well as acting as a binding agent. But maybe not one for the kitties with delicate stomachs!
