    Yeah, it was real!
What folk with a few extra years need is mental stimulation, and challenges to overcome, and so much of modern society seems aimed at minimising both!
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

That is so true. I like many others suffer a few aches and pains but when asking for advice and suppport get the feeling that my sell date is approaching so why waste the money.. I know they are not miracle workers but FGS I am not ready to be written off just yet.

Ah Bren, I didn't doubt you for a minute love! I was referring to the programme you watched, not the series from long ago (which I also avoided). I didn't want to watch the programme, because like you, if I am going to grow old, I'll do it disgracefully!

Don't be written off Bren. Keep doing whatever you can do. And keep interested in anything and everything.

Thanks Florence but I was in no way knocking those who referred to the original Young Ones. You all must have had a very strong sense of humour and enjoyed a laff. For me it was the biggest bore ever but then, I must admit, I never did like being amused. lol

Like you, Bren, I'm in no hurry to be written off just yet, but the programme did alert me to the fact that it is very easy to slip into those little ways which confirm to me that I'm getting older - like a wee nap in the afternoon or asking someone else to get something that I could easily get myself if I didn't feel lazy at that moment. There is also the embarrassing business of forgetting names and words, leaving me stranded in mid-conversation and having to make a joke of it.
I'm not doing those things any more!

I have a notepad on the desktop. It says

Just to remind you to remember"
