OMG. What an insult this programme is to how I perceive as growing old. How embarrassing it must be for these old codgers to reveal to us all their good times and in reality what they have become. I totally agree that I was better at a lot things when younger BUT would most certainly not want to turn the clock back. This is my life and will always live for tomorrow.

We missed the middle program (of 3), because we were working late that day. What I did see was good. All 6 of them actually benefitted from the experiment. What was proved is that a lot of 'growing old' is in the mind.
Too many people are 'old' because they have accepted other people's assumption that there are things they can't do. Derek Jameson was delighted to find that he COULD still put his own socks on (and he was capable of holding a seminar for traineee journalists, and making them think...and laugh). Sylvia Sims rediscovered how to RUN. Kenneth Kendal was less convinced, but he IS getting another dog!Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
