          Speechless!!!

Can someone please explain to me how it can be, as our erstwhile PM is claiming, fair for Child Benefit:

to be removed from a household where only one parent is working but said parent happens to be earning over £44k; and

kept by a household with 2 working parents, where neither earns over £44k individually but where their salaries make a COMBINED household income over £44k.

          How can this be fair?

I would have no objection to them removing our CB if the decision was based on HOUSEHOLD income and NOT individual salary.

I can well understand having a bad back if there's been trauma, or strain, but I haven't done anything to deserve this!

It's not fair but is easy and cheap to bring in as they already know who pays higher rate tax. To assess it on household income would mean far more work so they would end up saving less money. Sadly life isn't fair but I can see the logic (not saying I agree with it but I understand).

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Feeling as though one part of your life is going well...but at the same time another part is going tits up.....and instead of being happy and upbeat you are getting really wound up all the damn time....had enough now

Being taken for granted and treated as though you are invisible really sucks big time.

I'm sure it'll pass but I'm really low right now

Home improvements. Why is it that they never go according to plan and always end up generating a further dozen jobs & more expense.

...ever wish you never started something!?

Smelly, dirty, squealing ill-maintained buses that are deafening through the office double-glazing.

In Berlin, the buses are all clean electric or something - what a difference to air and noise pollution!

No wonder we can't teach them, they're starving

Builders who leave bits of concrete and brick buried under the grass. I've just spent the whole day trying to turn over a new 10m bed. Had to give up after the fourth large piece of concrete was too heavy for me - I managed to get it out of the ground, but can't lift it onto the barrow. The back said 'no more'.

So, I didn't finish the job, and I don't have any more free time until next week.

Couldn't you just put the concrete on the skip????
