  • My sympathies to both of you - I shall try the heat method next time I'm in for a stabbing.

My rant: Bl**dy Vodaf*ne. DON'T blimmin ring me, I've asked you at least a dozen times to put it on your file that I DON'T want you to call me. I pay my bill by DDR every month, without fail, so you have NO NEED to ring me. Obviously I'm happy with the service - I can assure you that you'd certainly know if I wasn't, so bu**er off and STOP RINGING ME!!!!!!

      • People who take an 'Approaching Literature' course, which has in it's description that it is an introductory course to literary criticism including feminism, and then spend the whole time bleating on that the quoted academics are 'stretching a point', 'old-fashioned', 'far-fetched' etc., etc., etc. And can't seem to see that their negativity is getting everybody down. I wouldn't mind if they had some sort of alternative argument to offer, but to just say that 'feminism doesn't really matter any more' (and this includes WOMEN saying this!) reeeeeeeeeeeeally gets my goat! Chuff off and study geology if you want to deal in absolutes!!

            • I could cheerfully brain Mr OWG today...

He left work at 6.30pm last night, and arrived home at 11pm, after going for a quick drink with a friend. I had, of course, made us tea. I'd eaten mine eventually at 9pm, as I was so hungry. When he got back, he said he wasn't hungry and I shouldn't have bothered.

Today, we should have had some cash expenses paid back to us from his work - about £80 worth! However, turns out he didn't give them to finance on time, so it will be next Thursday. Slight problem for us, as that was to pay for the hotel and spends for tomorrow for a wedding we're attending.

I'm now going to have to ask my mum to lend us the money for it... *sigh*

                  • Couriers who don't read directions or can't follow a Sat-Nag, and then take my urgent parcel back to chuffing London, saying they can't find us. Slow down a bit, instead of racing round the villages like a chuffing racing driver, and you may notice the side roads and lanes, down which, some of us live - ya muppet!

                      • I've been watching all the Tunisia/Libya/Egypt revolution news lately - and in particular am really p****d at the Libyan workers (oil, etc) moaning on about how they are stuck in the desert waiting for a 'rescue'.

Is it just me but why should they expect a 'rescue' by the British Government after only a few days of peaceful(ish) revolution . They've been earning a good ex pat (possibly tax free) living - I'm sure they were warned of the dangers of working in Libya before they took the job - after all Gaddafi is not exactly a pussycat - and the fact that they have to live in security compounds is a bit of a hint. Where are the companies they work for - are they not the ones responsible for getting them to a place of safety.

I'm not a fan of the current government - but you can't expect them to put other peoples (ie soldiers) lives rescuing these blokes - just because they or their companies failed to plan for such eventualities.

That thought has crossed my mind too!

Rant 2: ...and why does my hotel bathroom smell of nasty drains? No, on second thoughts, I don't wanna know. (bleurgh)

                              • It was the real stuff as well; not cheap stuff in an expensive bottle [which is usual for me!].

My second rant; why does it rain on the weekends? It has all week to rain but it holds it all in just to spite us. GRRRRRRR.
