  • My bladdy next door neighbours, who can't be bothered to ensure their dogs are secure in their garden....

And who are obviously not bothered when 2 of their jack russels came into my garden and got attacked by my much larger dogs...

    • I am so cross I am spitting feathers, on the 8th April I sold some shares, not a lot but just enough to give my son a wedding and birthday present, and my daughter a birthday present with a little left over. They had the wrong bladdy bank details. Five phone calls later I am still waiting. I have been told now that I have to wait for the money to go back to them from the bank before they can issue me with a cheque which we all know takes a few days to clear. I have asked for the supervisor, boss or whoever is in charge to phone me back TODAY, BUT WAS TOLD IT PROBABLY WONT BE TODAY. (*(*^^&$%£ t

        • I am now actually calm enough to post,
be prepared its a long one.
The man who had my new plot before me said he was taking the gh opening rod thingys with him, fairy nuff, they were his, they cost money, not a problem, but he took them last night or early this morning and I didnt get to the plot till later this pm, so everything I had in the gh is toast, he has my number,he has my email, he could have said

A new wee girly(early 20s) has taken on a plot, done nothing to it. I met her at the local horticultural meeting (get me!) and told her that as long as she was doing something to the plot ( I advised her to do a little at a time as you lot did me) then she would be fine, told her when the next inspection was etc etc
Gave her huge trug of strawbs and couple of modules of onions to get her started, today I had to go past her plot to see someone and not only has she not planted the flamin things she has not even bladdy watered them, they are deed!
They were not surplus to requirement I would have used them, she can be chucked off now for all I care

            • Not really a rant, but didn't know where else to put it!

Seeing my sister really upset because of babies.... all her treatment has left her infertile and she is currently going through the menopause (at 28)... however several of her friends are pregnant/just given birth etc; and whilst she tries to put a brave face on, it is killing her inside....

It's the one thing I can't help with, and have no idea what to say to her

Was she not given the chance to freeze eggs before the treatment?

No, as she was only 19 when she first had cancer; and it wasn't commonplace to ask women that young. Plus, they didn't know how all the treatments would affect her, or that 5 years later the cancer would come back.

When it did come back, it was too late. The earlier treatment, plus the start of the 2nd lot of treatment had made her infertile. She had some tests done, but her eggs weren't suitable for freezing. The rest of the treatment then pushed her through the menopause...

BTW - it's actually not commonplace to ask about egg freezing anyway unless the cancer is 'down there' apparantly - you have to request it....

                  • Big sympathies to OWG's sister, must be awful for her.

My rant: Having to tell my supervisor driver that as of immediate effect he has lost his job, and will no longer work here because of external politics. I am absolutely disgusted for a variety of reasons but primarily because the company I am working for here havent got the bollox to stand up to the client and say no.
The driver has done nothing wrong, nothing at all, he's just an innocent victim of politics.

                    • I switched from o2 to Vodaphone today and had to go into Lewisham to have some girl who looked brainless and made out of spare parts, put the wrong connection code in three times incorrectly. It took all day. I am still waiting for the phone to come on and first thing in the morning, I will be going into that shop, locking the door and no one is getting in or out until I have a full signal.

                      • And another thing, last night, the radio said "There might be frost" so I bought loads of fleece, spent two hours wrapping things, came home, missed eastenders, no frost, left my shopping in the shed. I've got three chickens for ten quid defrosted to eat.

I didn't have the offer, as I remember: it was 15 years ago, and I'm as barren as a barren thing

(much sympathy to her, OWG from me - it's a knock on top of a knock isn't it? Plus you have everyone telling you "at least you're alive" )

That's awful, I'm really sad for her

Council Planning for my rant - why do we have to jump through so many hoops (and so many £ too) just to restore the Lime putty render to our house and take off the cement some div slapped on in the 70's? Do the council not want us to do it? Shouldn't they be helping us?
