    • Friends who come round unannounced and then don't leave until almost 7am.
We're expecting a visitor this evening so as OH was kept up all night I will undoubtedly have to do both ends of the school run, clean the house (no small job) and cook dinner. Although I snuck off to bed before midnight I was woken on a number of occasions by the noise downstairs so am tired today.

Council Planning for my rant - why do we have to jump through so many hoops (and so many £ too) just to restore the Lime putty render to our house and take off the cement some div slapped on in the 70's? Do the council not want us to do it? Shouldn't they be helping us?
Is that a listed building? Don't get me started! While I approve of the basic idea of listing interesting buildings (remember Firestone?), the people concerned (usually English Heritage) need to develop a sense of proportion!

            OWG, words are not adequate!

            • Further to my previous rant about the driver being sacked because of personal politics, its got even more ridiculous.
Said driver was replaced, (I didnt want to but had no choice) but he owned 2 vehicles, which I kept on, so that at least he would receive some income.
Was told about an hour ago that neither of the two vehicles will be accepted again on site, as of end of play today, and I will be given 2 more vehicles Saturday morning to replace them.

This is all being done due to pettiness that I cant believe, but what it means in real terms is that the bloke who earns something like $450k a year (yes, that is a real number) has stopped a driver earning approximately $11k a year, out of spite.

                • G4 I am so tempted!!

Todays rant? I am looking forward to tomorrow morning in work. This will give me the chance to speak to the man who called me, the security manager, at 3 o'clock in the morning to ask if I could stop the party that was gong on in the flat above his!!

When I asked him if he was drunk and extracting the urine, he assured me he was sober, and he couldnt see anything wrong with asking me to get up, drive 4 miles across the city, to get into a lift in his appartment block, and ask the residents in the flat above his to shut up.

                    • My dad, who has got an urgent biopsy for possible skin cancer - and has done nothing to protect his skin for the past 15 years after being told he was at high risk, and should cover up at all times due to his crazy freckles. But they won't do the biopsy til after we come back from the wedding as it would mean the stitches would have to come out whilst we are all away so he has got to have it done the day we get home, which means he will have the stitches in for the renewal/ and reception.

He should have listened when they told him to get the factor 50 on.

                      • Idiot neighbours (the ones I usually moan about) lit a huge filthy pile of plastic, old cushions and goodness knows what at 1pm today (still going now!). Foul toxic fumes all afternoon, they must have seen me and 4 yr old out there too when they lit it. Hope they step on a nail (that's bad I know but I do so ner!)

                        • Its not really a rant, more of a great big sigh.
My mum said she would buy all my bee stuff for my birthday so I told her I was going ahead and buying bits and pieces when I got them (hive at a great price, suit because I needed one for apiary visits etc etc)
OK she said I will just give you the money.
As soon as she was out the door tonight I opened my card (well I would wouldnt I ) not even a fraction of the cost*sigh*
Ungrateful git I am ,I would have had to buy it anyway
