Not quite cold enought for heating but definitely cold enough for a hot water bottle!

Ours is off now, but I have a thin fleece jumper and waistcoat on. I'm not a cold person, but sitting around doesn't generate much body heat.

          I wish I could.

The only ones that will come on at the minute are the ones in the living room and dining room and we very rarely go into the dining room.

The temp dials on all of the others just turn but they aren't turning the thing inside it.

          This happens every year.

Will have to get the engineer out as we are due the annual service anytime now.

The engineer said a pin sticks inside the controls if it hasn't been switched on for a while, he said to give it a tap with a hammer!

Stuff that, if we have the cover they can come out and do it.

Sitting room storage heater went on a week ago, set to number 1, which just keeps the chill away. Not needed anywhere else yet, but I don't do cold and like to be cosy at home, so when it's needed it goes on.

OH has been putting heating on the last few evenings. We don't use the program, just adjust the thermostat (on 'frost prevention' most of the time, turn up to 18 C when needed. OH tends to turn it to 20C, but I usually turn it down again).

Well it's been on again this afternoon. Cold wet and windy here and the grandsons are staying over the weekend.

We had a max of 12c today, with a cold wind and heavy rain all day. I've just had the heating on for half an hour to take the damp chill off

                        Still not had heating on.....

... but I am sat with a scarf around my neck and shoulders, no jumper yet. Is anyone else still resisting? My next goal is 1st October. I just want to see how long we can hold out. UPDATE: 7pm added hoodie to ensemble and with glass of red wine; well it could be JUNE !

I have been trying to resist, but yesterday and today have been so wet and miserable I have relented. Only been on for an hour each day but it has been enough to take the chill off.

....nope- given up....'cos I'm worth it!!!'...( and OH is home as isn't feeling 100%..so I'm pampering him!!!!..yehhh...right!!!!)

I have the excuse that my 350 yr old granite stone house slowly chills with the environment...if I want the walls and floors to remain sort of warm then they need feeding with internal heat...(fantastically cool in summer- but arthritically chilly/cold in winter)
