Not me.........so ner
We've just come from temps of 31 in Greece to this freezing country and I'm still refusing to put the heating on ..........OH has dug out his thermals
S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig a batch of jam is always an act of creation ..Christine Ferber
Mind you, we have resorted to having the gas fire on in the front room for a couple of hours in the evenings if it gets too cold! Otherwise it's blankets and jumpers all the way!!
P.S. The only reason it's not on already is that it's broken!
The only ones that will come on at the minute are the ones in the living room and dining room and we very rarely go into the dining room.
The temp dials on all of the others just turn but they aren't turning the thing inside it.
This happens every year.
Will have to get the engineer out as we are due the annual service anytime now.
The engineer said a pin sticks inside the controls if it hasn't been switched on for a while, he said to give it a tap with a hammer!
Stuff that, if we have the cover they can come out and do it.
Yeh! I have sorted it.
I thought the engineer meant hit the pipe with a hammer so didn't want to mess about doing that neither did my husband.
Anyway, did a bit of googling and found out where the pin was and managed to find out how to get the valve cover off as didn't have a clue how to do that.
My husband managed to sort the pins out with the tip of a screwdriver so now we have a nice warm house.
I hate freezing cold bathrooms, it is depressing.
Brings back memories as we didn't have central heating when I was a kid although we did have one of long electric wall heaters in the bathroom.
I remember my mum walking to the local hardwear store (used to be load of those in the 60's!) and coming home with a gallon of paraffin for the hall heater. Bum Bum Bum Bum, Esso Blue! Am I showing my age now.
Was going to put it on today if it hadnt warmed up. Been proper Baltic here for the last couple of days, and had woodburner on in the living room for last 2 evenings.
Today though is a beautiful warm day so still not putting it on.

My Dad used to sell Esso Blue, he had a round, once a week, and he used to sell to all the oldies in the local area.
Yes. my heating is on at the moment, it's so damp and drizzly here today, that I've put it on for an hour or so. (Whimp!)

Had chimney swept yesterday......soon be open fire time, cats are starting to complain about the lack of heating, both huddled round the stove now! aww bless
Not on yet, but I did have bedsocks on in bed last night for thr first time this autumn. At the mo we're just putting a jumper on if we need it, it's still pretty mild where we are, and our house is warm.

I'm sooooo envious of you with open fires and woodburners. I can almost smell them !! I do hope I'll have one one day. We live in a modern 1960's house at the moment so not appropriate.
Still no heating on here but was woken up in the early hours by our cat scratching and meowing to get into the bedroom so she is feeling it.
I will hold out !! I will be the last !!
