Have mine on inmornings and bathtime for kids, but have it on now, after arriving home this morning to find my kitchen tap spurting water all over the kitchen. Had to turn the stopcock off by laying on a wet cold floor! BBBRRRRRR!
Can you belive it I start on a basic home maintanace course with a bit of plumbing NEXT week! Typical!!
I'm still resisting, too. I don't spend that much time in the house, so don't like to heat it up only for me to go out once it's warm!
I have, however invested in one of those woolly mattress covers and very naughtily slept directly on top of that last night. This plus a kitty in each armpit means I'm toasty warm. It's just very hard getting up in the morning (and I keep getting stiff shoulders, from having my arm squashed for hours!).
The wood burner has been lit a couple of times, though.
Only had 1 really cold day here - we have an electric rad that's in the baby's room (her room is above what was a garage, but converted into a room - I don't think any insulation was put in the celling between her room and the garage room though..) Have had that on a couple nights for an hour or two in early morning to keep her comfortable.
Other than that, we've put the 2nd part of the duvet on (those ones that fit together to make a big thick one)... well, my wife did - not me. I sweat at night, she loves it (being warm, not me sweating) - so I tend to sleep with a leg out to cool off. Then roll over and stick other leg out when that one is cold
Our sitting room faces north and never gets sun in it, so it never warms up. It's actually warmer outside than inside today (I exaggerate: actually it's 13c outside and 19c inside, but the outside feels warmer because it's sunny)

Ours faces North too, so I sympathize, TS. The kitchen gets the sun, but who wants to sit in the kitchen?

Same here! We have a side window though, so it warms up in the morning, then our garage has a window in it positioned at an angle so when the sun is setting it reflects off the garage window right to where the sofa is in the living room - annoying when you're trying to watch telly with the sun reflecting in your eyes!
