I still have not succumbed, nearly did yesterday but I was ready for a shower so that warmed me up. Am I the last or has anyone else not put their heating on yet this year?

Mine went on to automatic yesterday (first day) but the maximum temperature in the hall where the thermostat is is 18C and that is first thing in the morning for an hour and evening time.

Same here Stella. Bright sunshine, but freezing! Heating is on and I'm loving it.

Our heating is still not fixed, so it's not on!

We are using the fire in the living room for a few hours each night, we've got 2 duvets on the bed, plus a couple of hot water bottles... meh, who needs central heating!!

Went down the lottie this morning and had to de-frost the car before i set off. So yes, the heating is on.
It was cold down the lottie as the sun dont get on it at this time of the year until noonish.

Brings back memories of being a kid in Lpool when we had proper blankets and counterpanes and I used to wake up in the morning and the frost was on the INSIDE of the windows.....

I hope your saved the soot for your veg patch. My granddad was a chimney sweep and brought loads of soot to our allotment. His dad, also a sweep used to buy house soot and mix it with soot from the works in Sheffield and sell it to the farmers. Its good for the crops and slugs hate it.
