Know what you mean Bren. The same applies to going to bed. I used to stay awake till they were all in. Now I'm on my own I go to bed when I'm tired.

5:45am is my wake up time.
I was told just the other day about a kinda light that slowly gets brighter (little like a false dawn) it was designed to be just that! dont know what it is called or who makes them though - sorry - not much help really.

Our alarm goes off at 6.00am. We have a bit of a snuggle until 6.08 (when the snooze goes off for the second time), then I'm up and out of bed like a shot. Showered and hair-washed by 6.20 (6.30 by the second clock, which we keep 10 minutes fast). Then make-up, hair dried and straightened, and dressed by 7.25 (aka 7.35), which is when the 'Time to Leave the House' alarm starts going off!!
In the winter I can only manage this early morning activity by having a lamp plugged into a timer, which switches on about five minutes before the alarm goes off. I find it less of a shock getting up with the light already on.

) so it's straight out the shower, 5 mins with a hairdryer on the mornings I wash my hair, throw on the clothes I've put out the night before and downstairs in about 10 mins. Quick cuppa (making butties while it's cooling) and bowl of cereal, brush of teeth and out the door within an hour of waking up

For the last 20 years of my working life i was up about 4-30 and off down to the wholesale fruit market to buy the best stuff for our shops. So i still retire early at night and awaken at 4ish. In the summer i am often down the garden or allotment by 5 am to do the watering, or slug and snail crushing.. Its how my body clock still works even though i can lake in bed as late as i want. In the winter i get up and do my writing most mornings.

I get up at 6am every morning put in 30min workout video & a quick shower, then head off out the house for 11-12 hours 6 days a week. My motivation to get out of bed, my health i know i could grab an extra hour in bed but i'm normally so exhausted by 9:30pm that i might as well go to sleep & get a good 8 hours in than resist it just so i can get up later.
