Every now and then I am made to remember that I am old. In my own head I am definately not passed it but not everyone views me that way. The way I think, the way I dress eeven the way I act and interact cannot be old. Surely not. So why do some other people treat me as being old. I well know that at 20 anyone over the age of 40 is oldish but when do you realise that it is time to grasp the nettle and give up.

Bren girl how old are you. Dont give up, whatever you do take each day and think what can I do today. Age is just a number.

Don't let anyone else tell you that you are old (even if they don't do it in so many words).
I have met 'old' 30 year olds, and folk who are 'young' at 70, it's all in YOUR mind.
OK some tasks get trickier, so you use cleverness to cover the gaps, but don't let the calendar dictate!

All I can say is I didn't look at you as old when you posted about "Spurs v Man City", you'll always be a Spurs girl as far as I'm concerned (however they make us feel!).

I was recently seen by two medical students before seeing the Doc - when Doc came into the room with two MSs and me she said, pointing at two MSs, 'you're not as young as them you know!'

'I'm not?' says I 'blimey, when did that happen?'

I don't see a 54½ yo bird looking back at me from the mirror, I don't see a 54½ yo bird from behind my eyes either - if anyone else sees a 54½ yo bird that's their problem.

Lol...I do not look old to me because I am canny and have me mirror in the best light possible. I wish I had never paid loads of money for the new glasses. I admire the beauty of youth and boy do I still just love to dance. I am really not sad but hope the thrill of being alive goes on and on.

Oh Bren...just look at the old films and see that the 'old ' stars were
only in their 40's/50's....they look much older than the present stars who are at least in their 60's 70's....so in 30 yrs...'older peeps' have only aged 10 yrs...if that!!

and soooo...who cares how old you look...it's your attitude and outlook which expresses your age!!!
...just look at Yoko Ono...if she hadn't shuffled a bit you'd have never have imagined her age

Brengirl, as everyone has said, age is all in the mind - sometimes your body likes to remind you that's not always the case but, hey, just kick it in touch and tell it you're not at home to old age today

I think age is largely in the mind too & Brengirl you're about 25-30 !
I still dress far too young for my age & frequent pubs full of teens & twenties & really don't care less although I'm sure some of them think I'm someone's mother come to collect them!

I do still follow the fashion trend (within reason lol) I like the smock top with leggings and droopy knitted coats. My grandkids call me nannycool to my face but maybe silly old fart when I'm out of earshot. But, as you say, I am not hurting anybody by my lack of conformity so that's all that matters.
When I was a kid there were strictly laid down codes of dress today you have to be trend setters to be noticed. I really believe I was born old and am regenerating.
