I remember years ago I worked in a resturant and at christmas we would get the big parties in. Most of the older ladies wore tweed skirts and twin sets, we laughed and said ' wonder if thats what we will be wearing ' as yet neither of us do and dont think I ever will.

Not saying EXACTLY how old I am, but the kids are 30 and 32. My hair is long, because that way I am the only one needs to look after it. Short hair keeps needing cut!
I wear what is comfortable (at my weight, fashion is not for me) and mostly it is 'scruffsville' except when I need to look respectable to meet potential clients etc.
I do what I want, when I want, and anyone who doesn't like it, they are not MY problem!

Bren like most things in life, its only relevant to the situation.

I remember talking with some male friends when we were youngsters and how they (at least 2) were utterly convinced, that they would be dead before 30 because it was so old.

I reminded one of them of said conversation when I posted a 40th b-day message on his FB page back in August.

These days I look back fondly on 30 and would like to be that young again but I'm only 37 now. Current life events make me feel much, much, much older

As for looks, well it's hard to look in the mirror at the moment but I keep dying my hair bright red, make sure my nose stud is still there and show off my half sleeve tattoo most days because it's me, and by todays standards pretty tame for a middle aged bird

Is there a set age when we have to start having the cauliflower hairdo's and the guys have to start wearing trousers with turnups and trilbys? Cos I am certainly not ready for that and don't think I ever will be.

I know this sounds odd but I have been made to feel old lately by the new students at uni because they are so very much younger than me. I am in my twenties but I dont see even 60 as old because my mum and dad are that old. I am a firm believer however in you are only as old as you feel. I think as you get older if you want to you really should act your shoe size sometimes

Snap! I used to think I was pretty much the same age as the students, but this year they look horribly young, and I've been forced to admit defeat (I'm 30).

My mum is in her mid-60's and has a better social life than me! She is very active - holidays 3 or 4 times a year, is always off for days out/shopping trips etc... she says she's waited 60 years to have this much fun!

I'm a young (immature? ) 47. When I was in Hospital, I noticed half the Doctors were young enough to be my Children! Terrifying thought!

Policemen are looking like school-kids too.

I suppose, if I am honest, what has really got me down is a back problem that has made me feel old and incapable of doing what I usually do. My actual age has never bothered me before and I know I can hold a candle to most. I suppose it was having to face the inevitable that brought on the gloom.
Methinks my roots need retouching and I will try on my new size 12 jeans. ( I take 14's but if I hold me tummy in and stand tall it will feel lovely when I take em off).

Don't let yourself down the older generation of today are much more active than the previous. There is a couple who live a few doors from me they both walk round the villiage everyone the guy cuts peoples grass, still drives everywhere, go on holiday serveral times a year. They use to go aboard up until a few years ago. The older generation are an inspriation to us all. Don't feel down you are your own person there is no law what says when we get to 60 odd that we have to take it easy.

Thats why I stopped colouring my hair, I was dark now I am silver and so many people have paid me compliments about the colour and say I look younger.
I dont feel 55, in my head I'm still 30 something.
