I live just down the road from Ashton and the trees round here have been absolutely hammered by these problems.
I have no idea if we can go conkering this year, every tree I've seen has been at least half dead."Orinoco was a fat lazy Womble"
Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

I was walking through our local park the other day & there were loads of conkers on the ground where the kids had been knocking them out of the trees, a lot of them had just been left so maybe they were too small for them. I picked one up & brought it home, they're such lovely smooth polished objects!Into every life a little rain must fall.

How can you keep conkers looking as if they have just been picked? they are so beautiful and very tactile but quickly dry out and go dull when brought inside..... I would love to save a couple to add to my desk collection....
currently two perfect pine cones decorate my desk, they must think me bonkers! yay bonkers for conkers....that will be me thenLast edited by Headfry; 05-10-2010, 08:59 AM.
