I'm grateful that my fanbelt decided to self destruct on the way back from the allotment and reasonably close to home allowing me to limp my ageing Mondeo back home.
Watching the temperature creep up, preying for no traffic jams and my arms being torn out through lack of power steering was no fun though!

Could have been worse, as I could have been on a long run in the middle of nowhere when it happened!

I doubt that even HeyWayne's fishnets would have been long enough for this job. This is one LONG fanbelt!

I always remember a poster, I beleive it was from Ben Shahn. The moral has always stuck with me. It said, quite simply; Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Today I am grateful for 2 things.
                              1. The constant, incessant rain we have had here for the last week. Yes everything and everywhere is miserable and sodden, but it also means that the first footy match of the season for our vets side (that I have been dreading because I'm so unfit) has been cancelled.
                              2. The incompetence of my bosses in London and Algeria mean my return to work has been delayed by at least a week, giving me another week at home.
                              Bob Leponge
Life's disappointments are so much harder to take if you don't know any swear words.
