  • Present for Mother's 70th?

Prompted by JaneyO's recent thread, I thought I'd pick your brains, too.

I know you don't know my Mother, sometimes think I don't LOL, usually I'm reasonably good at presents, but I have a mental blank this year.

She likes an easy life; no manual labour, no dirty hands/boots no ornaments, and she's vain. (Am I allowed to say that!? ) I usually get her something Dog related, but she's now Dog-less, or a plant, but that won't suit. She has more clothes than most teenagers, and has expensive taste.

Lol. If she is vain she probably thinks she looks good enough already so hows about a one to one session at the local gym. Would seem good enough for me

One for Gran, at a similar age to your mum, I took her to a local observatory to look at stars. She'd always been fasinated with the sky, remembers Armstrong(?) landing on the moon and never thought it would happen in her life time etc etc.

It has to be a bit spontaneous, because of clouds but it's early evening so we went into Cambridge city after and had hot chocolate & toasted teacakes to warm up (not that we were actually cold at all cos it was all in side).

It was brilliant & the chaps were amazing, full of really interesting stuff and nothing was too much trouble.

Me and my brothers sorted a family photo for he with all the family on it - her, her three kids plus partners and 4 grandkids. Then let her pick the best one and had it framed all posh. Really nice for a special birthday.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
