There is an old adage that could be applied here..........
A place for everything & everything in its place
but (and there always is one) there is another............
The possesions accumulated will always be greater than the space available
Basically without enough storage space you are fighting a losing battleHe who smiles in the face of adversity, has already decided who to blame
Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity

Might tackle a pile of paperwork tomorrow, there must be some that can get shredded. Trouble is, we don't have the filing cabinet any more (coz himself said it wasn't pretty enough so it had to go)Happy Gardening,

I seem to do a load of washing every night. It then goes into the airing cupboard and then gets dumped on it's owners beds as the new lot goes in . My kitchen table is never clear of cr@p , unless I'm on one.
I've just said to my OH I'm sick of the stuff in this house and I wish I had a house like his sisters . His answer was "well she's got nothing better to do and her house is not a home !"
My answer to anyone who writes on the telly saying dust me is ...you know where the dusters are !Last edited by binley100; 12-10-2010, 11:30 PM.S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig

If I tried to do all our laundry like northepaul does I would be washing solidly for each of those days - boys don't half get through clothes
I dont wash things that dont need washing - if anyone chucks stuff in the laundry basket thats not dirty (ie jeans worn once etc) it gets chucked right back at them.
I am on a water meter so cant afford to do unneccessary washing!
The problem I have is everyone else in the house making it messy!

I've just spent 3 hours cleaning the kitchen of my new home because the previous tenant was, to be blunt, a pig. I'm certain she's never washed her cupboards or walls or floor because ALL of them were covered in accumulated fly sh*t and pen / pencil scribbles and the place is only 2 years old, already trashed!
I now have the hall, landing, down stairs wc, bathroom 2 bedrooms and living room left to clean, plus all wood work and doors because they are in the same condition, but once they are done, it will be quite a while before I do them that level of clean again.
Argh! Proper grim!
IMO there are certain rooms like the kitchen (because of food & eating) and bathroom (because you get clean in them) that I think should be cleaned once a week because of said reasons but the rest of the house is as and when. I try to hoover every week and dust & polish every 2 weeks.
I'm trying to be tidy but sometimes I turn around and wonder where the rugby team went, and then realise it was only me in the house!!

When is MM down this end of the country again? Send him round here, couple of hours of this chaos and he will be glad to be back homeWPC F Hobbit, Shire police

LOL Fi, he was briefly in Fareham last week but he moved about a lot. Not sure if he is due your way for any length of time now - depends what jobs he gets allocated.
Your house is lovely and welcoming. As others have said - people visit you not the house. I just need to get Madmax to believe that nowHappy Gardening,
