Why is it greedy, we have over a dozen vacant plots on site and mine are kept in good order?

Isn't is crazy the difference in supply and demand for lotties around the country? Prob needs a new thread, but there's JG (and lots of others) who have struggled to get a patch of .... well...scrub, and the good folks of Leic not knowing what is available to them.

Definitely better that the plots are in good order than not, but - just a thougth - what happens if there is a surge in demand? I doubt I'd be happy to give up any of my plot when I'd worked at it...........?

We have never had a waiting list for the past 20 years, although it is filling up now. However our third plot which we have just taken on is a bit of a mare and was unlikely to be let as it stands now.

We have never had a waiting list until recently and I gave up half of one of my plots to give someone off the waiting list a chance to grow their own.

Going back to numbers, we used to be No 81 in UK - the odd house with the big raised beds full of shruby things in the front garden.

Here we don't have a number - we have a name tho and because we live where there was originally a cheese farm, our place is called Les Fromages, we didn't name it, just came with the deeds of the house. We even have our own road signs round the village pointing the way to us!

Since we grow in our garden... Our house is No. 48, but has a 41 painted above the door, which confuses delivery men, plus we have a name as well.

It just means that no-one can find our house!
