How would you have handled the situation differently than she (or A.N.Other policitian) did?

And did 'she' prevent you from getting work elsewhere - I do understand it's darn tough, but to blame one person seems a bit off cuff.

        Honesty from a politician?

In the GE Osborne was honest about spending cuts and the Tory poll share promptly dived 5%..

People don't like the truth when it's bad news.

        Edit

If you want honesty and telling it as he sees it: see Frank Field.

The Labour Party largely hate him...as he says benfits are too high, workshy culture, state too big etc...

Stephen H omits to note that Labour Governments always leave office with more unemployed when they started and a bigger budget deficit: See J Callaghan, G Brown

Dont forget under a labour government this country had rationing until 1953 eight years after the war finished.

Personally I don't care a tinkers cuss who is in so called power. Doctrines have nothing to do with it. There never will be the cure all. Given the circumstances it is always trial and error. Just compare our lot with other so called democratic nations. I sure know what side my bread is buttered.

I forgot to mention the 'local' NHS success story during the past ten years. I think madasafish will be as glad as I am that we are not in the catchment area for Mid-Staffs NHS Foundation Trust, or as its known locally the National Homicide Service. Why take an expensive trip to Switzerland to die when you can get it done locally, whether you want it or not.

They could not have done that if women did not have the vote in the first place.

                          Labour from 1945 - 51 Tory from 1951
This country was skint after the war & having to pay back the yanks for the stuff they sold us in the war.
Also the Americans put constraints on what we could spend the cash they lent us.
Given the circumstances it's a miracle we got the NHS.(which the B****Y yanks did not like )

Once again 1951 labour left the country in deep doo doo and the tories had to sort out the problem, The pound was once the trading currency of the world, to keep its promise of a NHS and borrow enough money from the yanks to start it labour gave the whip hand to the yanks that is why oil, gold and most other thing are traded in dollars

The blame on our "money problems" goes back to when W S Churchill put us back on the gold standard & don't forget he was a Liberal at one time.
