My sister makes a variation of this and its yummy,
French bread sliced ( across )
Layer in a dish in oposite direction
Mix eggs, ricotta cheese, parmesan and chedder ( think something else ??? )
Spring onion chopped
Pour over bread
Cook in oven for 20 - 30 mins
As I said yum yum.
no milk in mine, just the egg beaten, seasoned with salt and lashings of pepper, dotted with Worcestershire sauce, soak the bread, preferably slightly stale/dry for several minutes, then fry until crispy.
also used to know it as gypsy toast.
I cant eat a lot of it though, as too much egg gives me tummy problems so I can only have one slice.
