Funnily enough the situation was the same in Scotland when I grew up. All the Scots with get up and go , left. Lots of miners around here from Scotland who left when their pits closed down.


The remaining closed pit villages are either closed down completely or populated by people who have not worked for 40 years ( or more likely died early through drink or drugs or both).

I am sorry but those who want work, do what they can to get it.

Are you telling me that I don't want to work!
Are you being told implying that because I have failed to find anything in the last 18 months no matter how hard I try sending out cv's , being ignored by recruiters and employers alike, going to every job club, training course etc etc .... means I DON'T want to work.

Ok people - I think we've done Unemployment/employment now.

It's not easy out there - in fact it's a veritable jungle and with x out of work and only a fraction of that number of jobs available - it's pretty nasty for those who can't get a look in.

So we're closing this thread.
