Thanks to everyone, I wasn't ignoring you
I was away for the weekend in Hull, and the only internet access was via my phone. The cake is lovely; you know, I missed out on a real one, but a virtual one has less calories . We went up to Hull to see son no1, went round Castle Howard on my bday, and then had chinese for dinner. A great time. (Except for tripping up on an uneven flagstone in Hull, but I managed NOT to break my nose, I just can't put any weight on my hip today 
).
Anyway, thanks again to you all,
AnnI could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
Now a little Shrinking Violet.
