No, I haven't just bumped into George Clooney or been spooked by guisers but have just come back from buying a new computer!
Now I consider myself to be reasonably intelligent and fairly articulate but the second I walked into the applemac store all common sense, in fact all sense of whatever kind, deserted me. I deliberately chose an assistant who looked to be over 14 years old, and to be honest he was great, very patient and helpful but I became a complete idiot. I could barely ask coherent questions; it took me ages to remember my password for setting up e-mail; I could hardly remember where the keys were on the keyboard so my typing became so laboured and slow you'd think I'd never seen a keyboard before. All this despite using the old computer daily and using computers in my work life. What is it about different technology that freezes my brain? Just a mention of terrabytes and terror certainly bit. I did come out with a new iMac but also shaking, sweaty hands and wobbly legs. Do other grapes have situations/experiences that turn their brains to mush or is it only me?
Time for a soothing glass of wine I think.
